A hard-soft rubber phantom with an elastic contrast of about 3 was constructed, where half of the phantom was hard and the other half soft as shown in the figure below.

Radio frequency data were acquired at 30 frame/sec using the newer compliant balloon catheter. B-scan movies are shown over a 40 dB dynamic range - further details of each movie are presented on the corresponding pages.
