Thrombus

The following movies are from data captured using the compliant balloon catheter imaging a clot that formed inside a rabbit thoracic aorta. The compliant balloon catheter was used for a separate in vivo experiment and remained inside the animal after the animal was euthanatized. During this time blood was allowed to clot in the vessel around the balloon catheter. After about an hour, a segment of the aorta including the catheter was removed and placed in a small water tank for imaging. For further details, click on the movie pages below.
